Shamelessly ripped off from my colleague, Tammie Lister, who has written a similar post, I thought I’d write a little more about my process for preparing for talks.
Okay, so, unlike Tammie, I’ve not done that many and my process is probably very new and unrefined. My intention is to re-visit this post at times, though, and update it as I go on.
Along the way, I’m also going to add some tips that I’ve learnt along the way.

It’s that time ago when the whole of WordPress VIP have their Grand Meetup. This year, we’re in Rotterdam.
We stayed at the nhow hotel, which is rather splendid, architecture wise, using the hotel facilities for our meetings, workshops, etc.

My WordPress plugins have been in desperate need of a lick-of-paint when it comes to the images used on them for a while – and by “images”, I mean those used in the WordPress repository.
There are actually 2 you can provide – an avatar and a banner image. I’ll come to the banner in a bit, but I decided that I needed a single source for the avatars, so they all had a matching design.

I ran the above using a carbon footprint calculator available at websitecarbon.com. Bearing in mind I’ve done nothing to keep the footprint low, I’m quite happy with the result of this.
I skipped WordCamp Europe last year but didn’t want to miss this one, as it’s coming from Berlin.
And, as in Paris back in 2017, I’m here as a volunteer.
