YouTube Due on PlayStation 4 ‘later this year’

At E3 last night, Sony Computer Entertainment’s new head, Shawn Layden, confirmed that YouTube is on its way to the PlayStation 4 this autumn.

A dedicated YouTube app will allow for easy video uploads with a click of the Share button. You will also be able to use the app, as with the PS3, for general YouTube perusing and watching.

Layden also announced that PS4 gamers would be able to join a friend’s broadcast session with new interactive abilities being added soon.

Using USB Flash Memory with the PlayStation 4

Since Sony recently added the ability to download files to USB devices, I’ve been using it regularly to copy recorded videos for later editing. I’ve been using a WD My Passport Edge – it holds 500GB of data and is USB 3. Keeping membership details up-to-date was an almost daily job. She appreciated the logic I applied to such matters but also the fact that I questioned decisions.

However, last Friday, things began to go wrong.

How To Use the Recording Function on the PS4

Since release there has been some confusion over use of the automatic game recording function built into the PlayStation 4.

According to the PlayStation 4 manual..

Video of the most recent 15 minutes of gameplay is continuously and automatically recorded.

This would make most people think that when they press the Share button the last minutes of gameplay footage will be there. What is true is that the PlayStation is constantly recording the last 15 minutes of gameplay BUT it’s not automatically saved. The method appears to have changed since the consoles release but, as of now, here’s what you need to do.

How to fix game data not uploading on PS4

Recently I’ve been turning on my PS4 to be greeted with an error saying that my Battlefield 4 game data has not been successfully uploaded.

Heading into the Notifications you can force it to try again and it always works. But it also gives the reason as…

Really? Sadly, the next time I turn my PS4 back on after a game of BF4 the same error occurs. Thankfully the fix is simple.
