    What I’d like to see in WordPress 4.7

    Helen Hou-Sandi, the lead for WordPress 4.7, has posed an interesting question – what would we like to see in the next release of WordPress?

    Initially, I echoed a number of other people with calls for two-factor authentication to be added (I use it for this site) but, after some thought, suggested something a bit more specific whilst, somehow, remaining a little vague. So, unable to get my thoughts out via a short comment, I thought I’d detail it a little more.

    And, this time, I can give some very specific examples.

    One of the best things I added to my Draft List WordPress plugin was…

    My last big update to Draft List added a number of new features but, over time, the one that I’ve really appreciated the most, was adding a shortcut to the Administration menu to all the draft posts, including a display of how many drafts there are, right there in the menu.

    It’s genuinely been extremely helpful when working on this site and handling the number of drafts I’m often juggling with simultaneously!

    I love WordPress plugins but there are things that other developers do that, as a user, really frustrate me. Now, to be clear, these are issues I have as a user and don’t represent the views of WordPress or Automattic.

    In this case I’m going to kill two birds with a single stone with just one plugin that I’ve just installed – To Top.

  • WordPress Plans

    WordPress Plans

    It’s no good, I’ve spent too long away from my WordPress plugins and need to spend more time on them. The last few months I’ve been revamping my site and, due to other circumstances, spending far too long having to re-visit as many of my 1000+ posts and editing them. However, I gave myself a deadline and that’s the end of this week. My post editing is done and any work this weekend will be final tweaks to the site itself.
