For my first ever WordCamp, I thought I’d go ‘all out’ – the full 3 days and volunteering as well. Oh, and it’s the London WordCamp too, the largest in the UK.
So, I thought I’d write about my experience – the highs and the inevitable, exhausted lows.
For those who don’t know what a WordCamp is – it’s a get together of fans, users and companies about WordPress. They happen all over the world and are of varying sizes.

It’s hard to buy a TV these days without it being a “Smart TV”. With build-in apps and other connected features it seems to be a great way to add content to your TV. But is it?

The PS4 Pro comes with a 1TB hard drive. On paper that sounds quite generous but with individual games often taking up 10% or more of this a time, it doesn’t take the avid gamer long to fill this.
Ideally, the best time to replace the drive is before you start using it (i.e. when you first buy the PS4) as all games have to be downloaded and/or re-installed. But that’s the only hard bit of the whole process – Sony have made the procedure very, very simple.

I’m only a matter of weeks into my new role, working for Automattic, and I’m regularly asked how it’s going and what it’s like to work for them, particularly the change in culture. Having come from a corporate role, working for the same company for 27 years, it’s a huge change. But, I have to say, one I was happy to embrace.
It has always occurred to me, working for a company over 150 years old and with a familiar, old-school office set-up, that there must be newer and better ways to work. Automattic is not just about working from home but in how it approaches the work/life balance but also the entire relationship it has with its employees and they with each other.
