Final week of my sabbatical and, as I write this, the final day – day 90.
What have I been doing to round up my time?
It’s really been a week of trying up loose ends and a lot of small bits of work.
The garden
I mentioned last week that a handyman had been over to do some work and, over the days that followed, I had a bit of a tidy up as a result of that.
I’ve also been weeding, as well as placing more bark chipping down around the trampoline (which I’ve re-secured into the ground, ready for the winter, after moving it a couple of months back).
The office
As I’ve mentioned previously, my office has become a bit of a dumping ground over my sabbatical so I’ve started sorting it out. I’m also having a bit of a move around in it too, including putting in one of those trendy Ikea peg boards 😉
More to do, but I ran out of time, so a lot will have to happen after this week.
Clogged up
I came down on the Friday morning to find the cats in distress and the washing machine beeping. I’d put it on overnight to wash some towels and it appears something had gone wrong. Looking up the code, it looks like it failed to drain.
Anyway, I shut the noise off, let the cats out and cleaned up the pooey mess that one of them had left in the middle of the kitchen floor. Back to the washing machine… it was just a blocked filter. I cleaned that, put the wash back on and all was well.
Away Again
My final 3 days of the week, were to return to my sister-in-law’s for a long weekend of board games, which also included the friends that we visited a few weeks back too (so, 7 of us in total).

And that’s the end. Sabbatical over. I’ll be posting up a summary post in the coming days, so keep an eye out for that.
After 3 months, I suspect most people would be hating the idea of going back to work, but I’m looking forward to it – thankfully, I have a job that I love. Slightly apprehensive about what’s been going on for the last 90 days, though…
Talk to me!
