    Enemy of the (business) people

    Positions such as yours take [away] even the slightest incentive for plugin creators to create great plugins for free

    This was feedback given to me in the WordPress.org forums after I left poor feedback for a plugin. I’ll write about the specifics of this separately, but essentially a plugin was doing some particularly nasty advertising practices which, I believe, are against the guidelines. It’s also been reported to the Plugin Review team so I’ll leave it up to them to be the final arbiter.

    But, yes, the developer didn’t take the review well.

    Social interactions: it’s not just on stage that I’m acting

    After a 4 year hiatus I’m back performing musicals. As part of them, I sing, dance (badly) and act. But it’s not just when I’m on stage that I’m acting in front of groups of people. As much as I seem to appear outgoing and extroverted, I’m actually not. It’s an act. And social interactions are actually really hard for me.

    WCEU 2023: Speaking in Athens

    If I could wrap my planning for WCEU 2023 into one word it would be “chaotic”. And when it comes to travel, that’s not normally what I’m like.

    The last couple of months have been hard – physically and mentally. And, as a result, I’d put WCEU to one side and, as a result, I didn’t do a lot of things I should have. Thankfully, my people network, and a lot of luck, got me through.

    Which was lucky, as I wasn’t just attending, but speaking.
