Why I’m moving away from Samsung

I’ll admit, I’ve been a bit of Samsung fan. My TV, my wife’s and daughter’s laptops and my phone are all made by this electronics giant.

However, when a few months ago I declared to friends that my next phone wouldn’t be a Samsung they were surprised. Samsung Android phones are generally seen as the “cutting edge”, the kind of thing I go for. Why the change of heart?

How much DOES Google track you?

I’ve recently purchased a Google Nexus 7 tablet. After putting in my Google credentials I played around the new features. One of these, and rather good it is too, is Google Now.

The Nexus 4 – are Google messing up an excellent opportunity?

The Nexus 4 smartphone, released only last month, is a triumph for Google. The fourth Google smartphone to use the Nexus 4 this one is made by LG.

Sporting the latest version of Android, an excellent screen and camera, they’ve done what they did with the Nexus 7 tablet – bought it in at an excellent price. The 8GB Nexus 4 is just £239 contract-free. The 16GB version is just £40 more. A 16GB iPhone 5, in comparison, would cost around £575.

So, it’s onto a winner. Except, it’s been bungled.

I own neither and own both Apple and Android products, so I think it’s time for a side-by-side factual comparison of these recently launched tablets…
