With an external CD drive connected to my CD-driverless 2016 model of MacBook Pro, I've noticed an issue when ripping CDs. And some experimentation has shown an odd issue – iTunes and newer MacBooks appear to have a problem.

I mentioned this on a post the other day but have since fleshed out the details.
After walking through the dark streets of London, using Apple Maps as a guide, and finding myself sent up dark and potentially unsafe side roads, I had an idea of a feature that would help with this. After more thought, I realised this would be an ideal project for Google, particularly with access to Street View data and DeepMind for the AI. A while ago I wrote posts on ‘What’s in my bag?‘ and ‘What’s in my pencil case?‘. However, picking up an idea that came from an internal discussion amongst some Automatticians, I now present to you ‘What’s on my desk?’.

Inspired (no, okay, I ripped it off entirely) by Matt Mullenweg’s post of the same name I thought it would be interested to share what’s in the backpack that I take around with me when travelling for work. It’s early times yet, with only a few such trips but 3 more due this year and I have no current intention to change the contents.
I’m certainly not the “road warrior” that he is but I certainly think there may some ideas for others – what I liked about seeing Matt’s was that it gave me some further ideas of my own. I particularly liked some of the stationary items that Matt has and I’ve already been looking into them.
